Is This The Reason Why You Still Struggle Financially?
Negative money memories are stored as trauma in the body.
Studies suggest that traumatic experiences related to money and finances can be stored in the body's memory and affect an individual's behavior and attitudes towards money. For example, someone who experienced financial trauma in childhood (parents arguing about money, worrying about not having enough, divorce and arguing about money, parents spending all money to satisfy their addictions while neglecting children) will develop negative money beliefs and behaviors that persist into adulthood, such as overspending or hoarding money.
These patterns may be difficult to change even with conscious effort. Therefore, it's important to acknowledge the impact of past experiences on our current financial behaviors and seek appropriate help to address any unresolved issues.
I've found that people who genuinely intend to change their financial circumstances and put a lot of effort and work into it, but see little or no results, are usually those who experienced a lot of "money trauma" at a very young age. This is why there are hardly any "bad" memories, but there is a lot of "emotional negative money baggage" stored in the body that needs to be released.
This can be done using a combination of coaching and somatic work. Talking therapy alone will never work.
If this feels like you, know that there is nothing wrong with you not being able to create a harmonious, peaceful, and abundant relationship with money. You just didn't receive the right help yet.
